April 04

Been watching this one set-up all week, so went hunting this morning, and man did it pay off!!!!! Just one of those sessions that happens once a year. A Newfoundland conversion event (sub tropical low pressure off the coast of Cananadian Maritimes smacks up against an extreme Spring-time high, and kicks back long period swell, typically happening during periods of heavy shark migration) threw a killer slot swell. Took a little car surfing to find the right break. Easily chest high and very clean. No one out ... yet! Probably won't last long. Hit it now !!!! ............................. April fools

Nothing going here.

Flat.

Flat again. Flat .. I think I'm beginning to repeat myself ..

Not rideable now, but maybe tomorrow.

Thigh to waist high fun waves.

Chris here with a PM update...
Clean knee to waist south swell early this morning...down to knee+ now. Tide change might throw a foot on it.
Bottom row are from yesterday...fun waist to chest wind chop for most of the day.

Today's shot is taken from Atlantic Beach, just N of JAX. Fun little knee to thigh high South swell waves still dribbling in up here. If only I had a board.

Flat, cool and dry.

Back from a weeks vacation. Thank you Chris for updates while I was gone!!!! Looks like you all scored some fun south wind swell. No surf for me. Just chill time with the Creole family. Looking forward, we may have a shot of something rideable Tuesday or Wednesday, but I wouldn't be making any special sick plans. Summer is opening the door ....

Wind blew last night, but that wasn't a good thing. Knee to thigh high N swell blown and mixed-up by NE wind chop. Still fun to get wet. Oh did I mention, it's a little itchy out there. F it, it's spring, go get wet.

Muddled up under knee high chop yesterday's swell clings to life. Maybe rideable but not worthy of a drive.

Unrideable S crinkle.

100% glass. Soon to be broken ...

Fick, Fck, Flip, Fock .... I think you know what I'm trying to say .... damn you Uncle Sam. Why did you make me stay up so late last night!!!! Knee to waist plus swell hitting the backyard now. Mostly in the knee high range with waist plus sets every 10 min. N wind on it but not blowing thing apart like up the road. Go surf. Looks like we have waves for the next 5 days. It's going to get gnarly .... look for a Chris update later ....

Did some serious car surfing and poor break picking this morning. Day started with off-shore wind. Passed up on consistent and clean waist high conditions, hoping for better up the road. Better was not to be found. Settled for some really crappy doubled up thigh plus crud. Real disappointing morning. Now, the N wind is all over it at 20+. Find shelter. Size should at least double over the next 24 hours.

Early bird caught a little more the a worm this morning. Shoulder to overhead clean swell (no wind). One of the best mornings in terms of quality and size of the year. No one else out until 7:30am, when we moved and surfed the backyard for the rest of the morning. Paddled out about 1/4 mile for mushy waist plus, which was definitely not worth the effort. About 10am the wind arrived, and now it is busy shreding what is left of what fun is left to be had. Hope you caught it early ...

The early bird had to wait this morning. Knee to waist high bobbled up swell early, barely rideable. Drove around a bit, and settled in the backyard. Knee high at first but around 7:30 picked up to thigh plus and funable. Didn't want to get out at 8am. Might want to give it a shot if you don't have time to head upcoast.

Maybe a little something. Max knee high.

Sick sh*t! from Sunday.

Wasted my time running this morning when I should have been surfing. When I went to be last night the wind was a solid 10 to 15, but I didn't expect it to hold. It did, and was a consistent 15 this morning. Very rideable knee to thigh at your choice small chop breaks. I wouldn't be so pissed, if 4 months of flatness wasn't just around the corner. Rain slowly moving on shore. No surf until maybe Sunday.

Continued late spring beach day perfection. No surf / plenty of sun. Flat and sunny. Late season cold front to roll on by tonight .... Flat today as it was yesterday and the day before that. I'm hoping that will change soon, real soon. Keep an eye on the cams, and the board ready to go.
April 25 April 26 April 27
Incredible sunrise. Skunkage. Maybe a little S swell mid-week. Knee high rideable S wind chop. 10 to 15mph SE wind, which should pick up through the day. Possible thigh to waist by this evening. Really thought we'd have something rideable this morning, so went out for the early morning hunt. No game. S wind now light from the N. No surf to speak of ....
April 28 April 29 April 30
Light SE breeze and unrideable. No surf. Thigh high rideable SE wind chop, which should pick up through the day before fizzling out tonight. Bring the board, binoculars, camera, girl, beverage of choice and anything else you can think of for a long haul beach day. This weekend is the Air and Sea show and it should be a good one. They were practicing all day yesterday here on the beach. It's one of the those once a year things that should not be missed.

Light surface chop and unrideable. See ya April, can't say it's been good ....
