April 03

Less than knee high ground swell breaking on the sand. Rideable for the desperhardcore. Sorry, no joke... Lake Atlantic. Trippy warm. Yellow haze on the horizon??? Cooler. Light S breeze. Beautiful beach day. Head North for the surf cause it's not here.

Pre-sunrise paddle session. This AM a rag-tag fugitive fleet of SALSA surf elite paddled SR park beyond and back while a certain member, lacking social surf skills, ran the beach, missing out on a good time. Incredible sunrise. Today's surf, one to three inch swell = flatness. Weekend chop fest on the way. Keep those boards waxed up!!!

Light N puff. Ankle high swell crashing on the sand. For a split second even considered grabbing the log, then quickly came to my senses. Unrideable. Yeah Baby, check out that marine forecast!!! Possibly tomorrow, maybe even in the AM, then we are good to go for the next two to three days. Bring on the chop. Love it. Cherish it. Bring it on! Bring it on! Wooooweeee ..... Will begin nightly updates again starting tonight.

Fun SALSA morning session at SALSA Point, Boca. Best early on. Thigh high N swell. Wind increased and turned more NE chopping things up as the tide fell out. Full SALSA crew (now 40+ member strong). Good time and good vibe. Great to be out again. ShrimpCreole was the proud winner of today's thimble jellfish award. Got tore up real bad. So, if you're not up for a good stinging, today is not for you. Otherwise, we got chop, and it's not going anywere anytime soon.

After being completed dusted by SALSA morning team this AM, ShrimpCreole headed out for a solo mission with Mrs. Creole on the photo end. Not much fun on the inside. Dumping real hard on the sand at thigh high. Out side looks meaty but didn't go it alone. Got destroyed (again) by lice. I am one massive welt. Told Monster that today was my last day for the season, but lied. Got the itch (pun intended) again.

Good pre-sunrise high tide session with Tuna Shake (surfer formerly known as Mothra). Waist to occasional chest high drops on the inside. After the sun popped it seemed to be dumping a little more. No drift. Plenty of lice.

Crash and Burn / Itch and Scratch session with Tuna Shake and Russ. Waist plus on the inside. Smaller than yesterday. Started out with a moderate drift ending with no drift at all. Sealice? I'm sure they are there. At this point I am so covered with red itchy welts I haven't a clue when or if more are added. Yes, it's spring, and they are out there. Stop whining like school children, get some Benadryl and go surf. The season is just about kaput.

Sunrise session with Top Shelf, Johnny Quest and Rob. Best waves of the week on the inside break. Consistent waist high with plenty of shoulder room to get in and catch a quick ride. Moderate north drift. Rights. No sign of thimbles in the water. Scratch factor - low.

Full SALSA session this morning catching chop leftovers. Thigh to waist with a rare waist high set rolling through. Scratch factor - low. Fun factor - not much better.

Fun morning solo session (hate surfing alone). Bigger than yesterday, more like Tuesday's surf. Off to Vegas for a few days ....

April 17

Light SE breeze. 1 - 2 unrideable surf. Hmmm, go away for a couple days and everything goes to crap, or is it that my web host has gone out of business? Either way, sorry about the down time. History links will not be working for the short-term.

SE puffing up @ 15+. Nothing rideable now. If the wind holds, maybe later. Wouldn't count on it.

Teaser. Wind blowing just short of 15mph. Maybe rideable. Maybe not. Probably longboardable, but nothing special.

April 20

Desperhardcore on acid only. Wind still puffing at 10 - 15 from the E. Just short of what's needed for waves. Oh well, it's spring, what should we expect? Great for running on the beach. Either way, there's always something to do. Right shot of a couple of Boca's lifeguard prepping their canoe for a morning paddle. Beautiful morning.

Unrideable even for those cruising on yesterday's desperhardcore surf acid trip. You know it's getting closer to summer when I start getting creative with my shots. Middle and right shot taken about an inch from the sand. If only it was as large as it looks ... probably still wouldn't be going out.

Sunny and warm, light on-shore breeze. Unrideable.

Sunny and warm. Mini SE windswell. Completely unrideable.

Flippen web host down again so back to Brinkster I go. Anyhow, completely unrideable and it's not getting any better. We got robbed.

Caught an after work high tide session with Seacliff. Knee to thigh high SE left over wind swell. Surfed 40 minutes with the Cliff, ran, then caught an addition 20 minutes before sun went down. In all, probably about 30 little rides. Unfortunately, I'm starting to itch. Great to see Seacliff back in the water. He's the man!

Crap! Thought for sure there would be, at least, knee high scrappage this morning. It's more like ankle with an occasional knee high macker. Completely unrideable. Sweet sunrise. Wave size in pics skewed by angle of shot. Sure wish they were as large as they look. For better perspective check video. Forecast shows wind picking up tonight, blowing from the E @ 15mph throughout tomorrow, so there's hope. Completely unscathed by sealice from yesterday's Seacliff session.

April 29

Wind puffing from the SE at 10mph. Just not enough for anything rideable. Forecast calls for SE wind at 15mph. Just don't see it happening.

Maybe longboardable.

Pancake, no syrup .

For those of you still questioning summer's presence, I present Summer Factor #3 (#1 being eternal flatness & #2 being sealice) in the right pic, the return of the loggerheads. Great day for anything but surfing...
