August 03

Flat and muggy again, but the end is near ... well, not immediately, BUT, it's August so it's gotta end soon. We also have a new T.S.

All eyes on Chris. No surf now, but things could get a little crazy come Sunday.

Our friend is looking to have less and less impact on this weekend's surf. Wind will pick up to the rideable range for Saturday through, maybe, Monday but that's about it. Right now, flat and hazy.

August 04 August 5 August 06

Flat with maybe a little hope later this weekend.

Flat and rainy. Unless something tropical spins up, the forecast looks dismal.

Surfed 7 to 9ish this AM. Fun knee to thigh plus early on. Light chop with SE sets every five minutes or so. Crapped out shortly after 9am. Can't say what to expect for the rest of the day, but I'm guessing small waves getting even smaller. Go get wet while you can!

All Pics By Roray!

Barely rideable knee high seaweed soup. Don't make the same mistake we did. Go stay dry!

After car surfing half the time away and almost not going out at all, we settled for what looked like a sacrificial knee plus seaweed soup session. It was certainly soupy but the waves were more in the thigh plus to plus range and getting better. If you got the time, I'd go for it. Going flat after today.

It's sunny out!!!! Get some while you can. Rain will probably return this afternoon. Of course, it's still flat. Weak high pressure will return early this coming week, which will increase our chance for small rideable wind chop.

August 10 August 11 August 12

Flat, humid and still.

Dismal conditions prevail.

Great to get wet but I wouldn't call it great surf. OK is pushing it. Knee plus, and "should" get better.

August 13 August 14 August 15

Hot and humid. Flat conditions continue on with maybe a little hope in sight, but I kinda doubt it.

Still with humidity you could cut with a knife. Toe to ankle high swell dribbling up on the beach. Charge it!

Chris here with an afternoon update. Knee to waist high swell in N Braward and PBC. The winds were off shore this afternoon...lets hope they hold off for the morning. I have a gallery up with pics from this afternoon. LINK IT

Head N now! Broward and S. PB are absolutely FLAT. As of 6am, the above spot and other breaks in PB that were working yesterday evening are looking much the same. But, judging by the cams it's not going to last long. I really thought it was a given this morning, and I'm still not sure why I'm typing this report right now, but hopefully given the swell's angle, it'll spark up again later.

August 16 August 17 August 18

Back to summer flat. Maybe a litle chop tomorrow, then again, maybe not.

Light unrideable chop.

Flat and sunny.

August 19 August 20 August 21

Continued flatness. Showers and sun ... can't really decide what it wants to do out. One thing for sure, there's no surf!

No surf. If you plan on hitting the beach, I'd get going now. It's going to be a rainy afternoon. More rain and no surf. Things should turn around soon.
August 22 August 23 August 24

I feel as if it's Ground Hog's day ....

Nice out right now (although flat), but it looks like another rainy day ahead ...

Flat, still and sunny.

More clouds and flatness. I think we'll probably see some chop next week as our new friend to the SE deepens and moves into the Gulf.

This weekend looks to be a little drier than the past few days. Maybe a day or two of chop coming next week.

Today is flat and hot, but the wind should slowly begin to pick up soon with the approaching storm. We should see rideable chop starting tomorrow, and it could get in the chest plus range come Wednesday. Then again, you know how the track and intensity can change. That is the scary part of this scenario. I love surf as much as you, but now that it looks as FL is going to get tagged, I could do w/o waves a little while longer.

August 28 August 29 August 30

Flat. Time to for preparation is now. It's hard to predict landfall, but almost every model shows us under Hurricane conditions, and it's moving slow, so expect heavy rain for an extended period of time (flooding). Needless to say, there will be surf. So, also expect to see every one of your long lost, out of shape, buds floating around in the water with you later this week. Be prepared, and expect the worst!

What a buzz kill of a morning this is! Come on Ernesto at least give us something to play on, or maybe, get me out of work! I guess I'll try again tomorrow. As of now, unrideable. And, according to the latest update, Ernesto had a little too good of a time visiting realitives in Cuba, and probabily will not regain hurricane status. This is good for us from the property owner sense. Unfortunately, his track is inland, so we may get nothing more than victory at sea surf, flooding and basically, a headache. But, don't let your gaurd down, you never know .....

Chris here with a pm update. Fun waist to chest chop with some bigger sets. Lets hope tomorrow brings it up a foot or two. I have a gallery up here!

Thanks again Roray for taking over the camera today.

As you know, Ernesto was a dud, but that's a good thing. Right now, 30+ SSE wind with waist to plus surf with a heavy N drift. I'm holding out for a late morning / afternoon session, but expect a pic update from Chris soon, along with an updated morning report.

Chris here with a 10am update: FUN Waist to chest with the occasional head plus sets early on. If you found shelter from the wind and drift, you scored. By the time I got the camera around 9 the waves went to hell. I am getting reports that some areas are turning on so keep an eye out for the tides and wind change. Check back latter for updates.

7pm update: Well it sure did turn on. Off shore winds and waist to chest and lined up nice.

August 31

I hope you got your fill these past few days. Return to flatness ...
