December 03

Nothing going in these parts. Absolute flatness. Just up the road in central PBC there's a knee to waist high swell. This should (?) work its way down today and give us some real nice surf over the next couple days with little to no wind.

PBC update is knee to waist to occasional chest. REEEEEELIN little peaks.

Skipped on out around 5:30am for a quick hour shot up the road. Solid waist + high glassy swell. No wind. No crowd. No need to say more....

Skipped on out around 5:30am for a quick hour shot up the road. Yeesss, the same game plan as yesterday, and judging from the shots above the same results. But, be careful the shrimpcam can fool you, if taken at pic value. Today's conditions, according to the above rider were, "shifty, dumpy, lumpy ass sh*t." Although I'm the one who took the shots, and it sure looks awesome looking at them from my desk, I have to say he's right on target with the report. Save the drive...

December 04 December 05 December 06

Absolutely nothing going down in these parts. Not even a smidgen of a swell. Head upcoast past the Bahama block if you're on a weekend wave run, but even that looks as if it's heading out.

Today is the FAU Owl's last game of the season. They will be facing their FIU rivals, and are looking for 70,000 in attendance! Don't know if that'll happen, but I do know it'll be a great game. Come out and show your support. Game starts @ 4pm!!!

Flat, overcast, dry and cool.

Light breeze with unrideable surf. This work week is playing out like a big ? with small scale wind chop being the only hand delt.

December 07 December 08 December 09

15mph solid SE wind with knee to thigh surf. I should've went out this morning, and should have known better (always trust in you skinhead friends)!. Go grab a few for me before the wind backs down this afternoon.

SFS has been updated.

Wind did not blow quite as hard as last night. Nothing more than light unrideable chop for now. You check those temps for this coming weekend? You see the above pics from a couple years back? Can you add ....

Rideable knee to thigh surf. Another should've gone out morning. Don't know what's wrong with me. Maybe time for a surf intervention...
December 10 December 11 December 12
Flat with a light S wind. The wait has begun. There will be surf this weekend locally (famous last words). Now it's just a matter of time. A little cooler and drier out, but not what I'd call cold. Flat with a trace S ripple and maybe a 5mph (max) NW wind, if you can call it that. Our marine friends are forecasting 15+ NW wind today with falling temps. Definitely keep an eye on it. If there's not surf this weekend, you can hang me from the nearest pier like a sacrificial pigeon.

Well, the pigeon did not meet the gallows this weekend. Go Surf! Waist plus to plus plus. NW wind sunny and just perfect. Plenty skinnable. Out back looking even better than it did an hour ago when I got out. Did I say go surf? Now!

Ankle to knee high dribble from Lauderdale to Delray. Gorgeous sunrise. Hope you caught some yesterday. More to come later in the week but this next shot aint gonna be pretty like the last one.

Nada surf. Try back tomorrow AM. Could be a weekend repeat before chop fest begins.

Missing Board: The board is a 7'2 natural art "missing link" edition with blue stripes on the rails. Lost at Pompano Beach @ 4pm on Sunday. If you picked it up or know where it might be give Paul a shout at: 954-579-7971 or shoot him an e-mail @ waverdr88@aol.com

Traveled 20 minutes N. Mushy waist plus with 20 guys on the same wave, so headed back S. Thigh plus semi clean waves locally with a good W wind blowing. After being called a p*ssy a half a dozen times for almost not going out, caught a quick 30 minute session and had a real good time. Much more rideable than it looks from the sand. Yes, it's cold but worth it. Let the warm trickle down the inside of your wet suite fill you with Christmas cheer. Grab a gallon of water and go surf!

December 16 December 17 December 18

Waist high slop chop. Wind is blowing 15 to 20 out of the NE. Should get better.

Thigh to plus warm rainy surf. Would've, could've ... shrimp don't surf alone ...

Very trippy weather out there today. Hard to say what's on tap, but I can tell you one thing, there's surf somewhere, and it's most likely knee to thigh, but very clean. Right now it's pretty close to that in my backyard but mushy and closing out. Yesterday evening was supposedly the bomb with similar conditions in the chest high range. Catch some for me, on the family plan, so no surf for this boy...
December 19 December 20 December 21

A little something showing on the reef. A little dribble here and there, some of which is rideable. Knee high at best. Could be the beginning. Check those cams. I have a feeling as if I'll be updating later on today, hopefully with some real pics.

This cold front just did not pan out as expected. Knee to rare waist high lines, but you're going to have to do some looking around to find a good break. Well, at least that was our story. Definitely picking up. Wasn't breaking beyond knee high early on locally now showing thigh plus, maybe bigger, but the N wind is also on it. Things were looking good until shortly past 2am when the E wind kicked in and blew the remenants of the swell to pieces. Still rideable knee to thigh swell coming in under unrideable wind chop. Not the prettiest site. Sure hope you grabbed some of the goods yesterday afternoon. We should have rideable chop beginning later this afternoon and lasting through the work week.

Another one of those should have gone out mornings. Thigh to waist high chop. Solid 15mph E wind. Looks fun.

Power chop. Waist to overhead on sets. Prepare for a beating. MOWs out and about. Should hold through the day.

Christmas is just around the corner, so go get that shopping done before it's too late. It's flat. Maybe some waves on Christmas +1.

December 25 December 26 December 27

It is barely working right now. Knee to maybe thigh mushy swell. Was much better earlier. Well, at least breaking better. I got the family plan until mid-afternoon, so no surf for me until then. And, by then, the wind will probably be onshore so I'm guessing no dice today, unless you catch it now. Definitely not worth ditching the family plan over. Tonight, looks to be very wet with the wind going off-shore again .....

Early bird caught the worm this morning. Consistent and near sold waist high clean South swell. Very very fun. By 8ish the tide got it and the party was over. Now, flat with a powerful SW wind. Wind is forecast to turn NW and then go onshore tomorrow. This coming week could get interesting, and be it swell or power chop or both, there definitely will be waves.

Took a drive a few minutes upcoast early on. Chest to overhead mushy swell. Looks pretty in the above pics, but really wasn't so appetizing in person, so headed back home down South. Surfed a local favorite, where it was breaking waist to chest high, but started getting funky and moved on to the backyard once the crowd showed. The backyard was a blast, consistent waist high semi glassy swell. Go surf!

December 28 December 29 December 30

Waist high plus chop with an underlying swell. Occasional chest high sets. Moderate South drift with a good amount of MOWs on-shore and in the water. Overall pretty junky at high tide.

Waist to chest + high. Difficult paddle out (more for some than for others). Plenty of MOWs. Grab it now or wait around, it's going to be around for several days to come.

Chop with solid waist to mostly chest high underlying swell. Very, very fun. Go surf!

December 31

High pressure kicked it up a notch last night. Chest high power chop. If anyone tells you that surfing is not a workout, have them paddle out and stay in position this morning. Moderate to + S drift and a non-stop paddle mill. Also, got wrapped by a MOW around the waist. All part of the game, but something to watch out for. Surf will continue through the weekend. Stay safe tonight and live to surf another day. Sorry about the crappy pics. Camera battery DOA.
