July 03

Great morning for a run on the beach, but that's about as far as it goes.

Concave and still. Weekend bunkness on tap. for rideable surf for South Florida over the weekend.

Flat and still.

Light E breeze - kiteable.

Faaa fa lat. Aint no surf in these parts. Showers just off-shore. Unrideable.

As I edited today's pictures in Photoshop, I found myself searching for the "add swell" button. Maybe in the next release ....

Every dog has his day and the surf dogs will soon enough. It's as flat as it gets now, but the season does show life. Our tails will be wagging. Just a matter of time ...

Another glassy flat morning. Add the smell of burning Glades to this one from the fires out west. Flat

Turtle row flatness. Well, it was a beach day. Light chop on the water, but barely even kiteable. Now, storms approaching fast from the North and West, and I don't think this one is going to miss. Flat and still.

Stop the madness! Great for anything that doesn't require a wave or wind. Doesn't get any flatter than this. 5 to 10 SW winds forecast for rest of the week. Brutal ... More of the same. Geee, and I had almost forgotten how bad summer sucked....
July 16 July 17 July 18
Flat here! So, why not roll it up and fly to JA??? Take a hit off the bottom row ... 7:30am and already really flipppen hot. Looks like another day of strong storms on the way. 10 to 15 SW winds forecast the next 4 or 5 days. If only it was as simple as replacing a"W" with an "E", then we'd be surfing. Instead, we're heading for shelter. Such is summertime in Florida. Just another month or so of this madness. More flatness with 15 to 20 mph SW winds. Ain't happening on this coast.

Flat. For those of you planning that beach day, get on it early. Should be another afternoon washout. Look for a repeat of yesterday. West winds should subside today. Lake Atlantic.

Guess what? It's flat! But, hope does approach. Although the marine forecast shows nothing but continued flatness in the forecast, it is beginning to look up for something rideable in the weekend timeframe.

Congratulations to the Sprockets on the birth of their beautiful daughter, Naya HaiLan, who am sure will be charging it like mom, dad and brother before she's out of diapers.

Hazy and nasty out ... oh, and as if I even need to mention, flat. More of the same.
July 25 July 26 July 27

Flat, muggy with rain on the way. Occasional sun between the clouds, but not what you would call a beach day. Good day for a run and maybe a dive, but that's about it.

Ricky, say it isn't so (as I'm sure you all know, sc.com is Ricky's favorite site, second only to ganjasurf)?!?!? You can't dust us like this! 5 years and out ... what about the Fish's dream of Super Bowl domination and the Dolphin dynasty? Think about it bro ... there's still time to back out. This is a sad day ...

Same flatness, different day. OK, this is really getting old. Change should come soon, although not soon enough. For now, concentrate on staying in shape and keeping the family happy. Build up those brownie points. Before you know it, we'll be riding again and you'll be needing them...

Flat and soon to be very wet. Hope you caught some chop yesterday evening. Keep an eye out for rideable surf today between storms ... and lightning strikes.

Got up early, hoping and praying. Walking down to my break felt like a was visiting and old girlfriend (you know, in those pre-marital days). Everything was in place ... the comfort and excitement level was high. Just hadn't been there in soooo long ... but the b*tch didn't show. Flat!

There is hope for this afternoon and the next couple days, 10 to 15 SE wind.

THERE'S SURF ... but it's really, really small ... ankle to knee. Charge it!
July 31
Nothing going here. Light W wind and a flat sea. Keep an eye out, may see a small swell poke through over the weekend. For now, nada surf.
