June 03

Had a feeling last night ... oh well, another morning past that I should have went out. Glassy knee plus S swell. Should be gone real soon. Maybe a repeat tomorrow AM ...

Not a repeat of yesterday morning. Light SE breeze and no surf.

Same 'ol stuff. No surf. Overcast with rain on the way.

Same 'ol stuff. No surf. Overcast with rain on the way. REPEAT ....

Rideable early on (when above pics were taken), but now, nope ...

Flat, and in a shocking development, it's sunny out. Kinda doubt it'll last long...

June 07 June 08 June 09

Flat and looking like rain is once again on the way. Marine forecast showing an increase in E wind to the maybe rideable range for the second half of the week ....

Flat with maybe a little something to play on Thursday into Friday.

We have surf and it's here to stay for the next three or four days. Rideable knee to thigh choplets now, which will definitely grow bigger over the next 24 hours.
June 10 June 11 June 12

Mushy and blown out waist high chop with waist ++ sets. Wind is blowing out of the E at 25+. Should continue to pick-up to the head high range before settling down over the second half of the weekend.

Don't know quite what to say about this morning's surf. Surfed from 6:30 to 7:30. Got out due to a nasty thunderstorm. Messy waist + chop. The ocean was disgusting ... brown sea weed filled slop. Definitely sealice. Already have some choice welts popping up in those special spots. And, if I don't get hepatitis, it might have been worth it. I wouldn't recommend going out. Wait until things clean up ....

Ridable thigh high leftovers. Wind will continue to blow at 10 to 15 for the next day or so. Expect small rideable chop, then poof, back to summer flatness.
June 13 June 14 June 15

Rideable knee to thigh high chop. You may want to catch some this morning because that will be about it for the next 3 to 5 days, at least.

Knee high SE chop. Soon to go flat. Then flatter ...

Sunny, still and flat.

Flatness is King.

Fa lat.

I wish I would have brought my camera out when I ran this morning. The wind damage from yesterday's thunderstorm was worse than any of the hurricanes that rolled through last year. As for as surf, well, wish I had some good news, but I really don't.

It's not a surfing father's day. If you're going to chill on the beach, hit it early.

A very rainy day ahead of us. Flat Atlantic out back. I think we've all just about reached our breaking point by now. It's flat. It's been flat and most likely going to stay that way for the forseeable future. This is my fifth year at sc.com and looking back in June's history for rideable days is an adventure in itself. Face it, June just sucks, but on the positive side, it's also just about over. Just try to stay sane and in shape for July, August and surf season is just around the corner.
June 22 June 23 June 24
I hope you were one of the few lucky bastards that caught yesterday evening's waist to chest high swell a few minutes up the road. Rolled the dice this morning in hope of leftovers and came up snake eyes. Flat! Flat and overcast with rain just around the corner.
June 25 June 26 June 27
Pics shot in Lauderdale and it's flat with a light SE breeze. Awesome day out. Head upcoast for surf. Flat with possible change ahead. Should be a little wetter the next couple days and the wind should also pick up to the 10 to 15 mph range, which means maybe some small rideable chop. Light rain with unrideable SE chop.
June 28 June 29 June 30
Wind picked up a few hours before sunrise to the 10 to 15 mph range. Not too rideable now, but sure could be in a few hours. Might want to catch a few between rain showers. There are ankle to knee high rideable waves, if you're game for the hunt. Otherwise, unrideable in most spots. Wind is forecast to die today, so prepare for it to go flat for the rest of the week. Although there may not be much as far as surf, it was sure cool seeing a dozen baby turtles charging it this morning. There's nothing like the beach .... Horary, the last day of the sh*ttiest month of the year is here! Going to be completely flippen flat for the rest of the week. BUT, it looks as if surf season may fire up a little early, possibly towards the end of next week .....
