Went to bed last night with a sneaking suspicion that it might be rideable this morning. Very rideable at first light. Wind must have died off late last night leaving clean knee to thigh scraps, which are history now.

Flat and you might as well get used to it.

Summer-like flatness.

Better-late-than-never mad props to Broward's own, Kam family father and son duo, who cleaned up this weekend at the Dirty South contest in SOBE. Roray placed 1st in Senior mens and LB. Keahi placing 1st in mens! Awesome ! ! !

Flat, cool and dry. Although I have my doubts, keep an eye on the cams. You never know what might dribble in.

The middle top pic is the last (and only) pic I got off today, before my camera caught the flu. Man, am I tough on cameras. Anyhow there's a little something out there, but it's no larger than waist high and appears to be on the way out. Grab some while you can. This coming week looks ... weak.

Flat with a strong smell of burning cane in the air. Looks like a good shot of chop on the way for the second half of the week.

Flat and cool. Another cold front on the way down.

Flat and cooler. I'll be surprised if we so much wave activity out of this cold front.

Nothing new today, but there's certainly hope for late weekend into Monday.

SW wind is here and the kites are tearing it up on the beach. Wind should turn W tonight with the approaching front. This is the strongest cold front of this season yet. I think we have a solid shot at some waves late tomorrow and into Monday. We've been skunked so many times this year. I'm hoping this is the real thing!

Flat. All elements are in place. The wait is on!

3pm update: Knee to thigh high longboardable and friggen cold.

5pm update: Knee to thigh plus and very loggable.

Thigh plus to waist plus longboard heaven. Nice and toasty in the water. No wind. Head east! No need to travel. Go surf now!

We all know what today, our favorite Hallmark revenue producer, is all about, and it aint surfin'. It's about keeping that other one happy, so you we don't catch sh*t the next time we go traveling for waves. Anyhow, it's flat.

E wind around 15mph. If it holds, we should have rideable chop this afternoon.

E wind 5 to 10 mph. Wind backed off overnight and it's barely longboardable now. It may pick up again today before almost completely dying off for a surfless weekend.

When I went to bed last night, I thought for sure this morning was a go. Wrong! Still and no surf. Hope you caught it yesterday afternoon. Heard it was fun! Weekend will be flat in S. Florida.

Flat. Snowbird perfection.

 Ditto yesterday. Expect the same tomorrow, the day after that, and after that ... A little fog, some smoke, clouds, sun, birds and not a wave in sight.

Almost jonzable. Wind should pick up a little more and it may be rideable this morning before dying off again after midnight.

Continued flatness, but beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel ...

 Let me start out by stating that this IS the sh*ttiest winter in memory. OK, I feel much better now, and now that I got that off my chest ... umm, well, it's flat again. BUT, do not despair, Old Man Winter should spark one up again tomorrow. Chop is on the way, and maybe a little swell thereafter if we're lucky. Time will tell ...

We got surf! Waist to chest high chop. Pretty fun early on at high tide. Once the tide fell out, sets became less consistent. Air and water is warm and plenty skinnable, but be prepared for some red itchy welts. MOWs are out and they are of the big variety! Wind has begun to swing around and is now blowing from the SE. It will continue to clock slowly and will be SW this time tomorrow. Hard to say what Sunday and Monday has in store for us. Who cares! Just go get wet ...

Slept in hoping I wouldn't be missing what I though was a slight chance of clean S swell. Got lucky, it was flat. Now the waiting game begins. SW wind has really picked up in the last 30 minutes, and should be cranking in the 25 to 30 mph range this afternoon, while clocking around to the N by the morning. Although I do think there is a chance of a repeat performance of last Sunday, most likely the wind is going to tear up whatever waves we should be getting. Fingers and toes crossed ...

Gnarly waist plus chop / swell combo with a moderate S drift. Wind should back off today and I think it could be a lot more fun for those going out this afternoon.

If it were completely still and low tide, there would be a clean knee high rideable swell. But that aint the case. Barely, if even, longboardable in some spots. If you're looking for waves, you might want to head upcoast and I wouldn't wait around.
