November 03

After an extended tour of Broward County, settled at a sheltered spot in North Dade. Consistent semi-clean waist to chest with head high drops. One of the top ten sessions of the year.

Presently, 15 to 20 mph NE wind. Kite paradise in North Broward.

Surfed 6 - 10am. Real fun waist to chest+ high waves. Repeat of yesterday's conditions. Go get yourself some.

Running into some software problem so no pic update today.

Started out completely flat and still locally, so took a little stroll up the road. Up until about 7am waist to chest high strong SE swell. Some close outs but some very nice peelers with mackrel jumping from the water like no tomrrow. Shortly before getting out the swtich flipped off and fun time was over. 5 minutes later 15 to 20 mph SE wind was on it and it was done. Easy come / easy go. This morning was a prime example of you snooze you loose. Pics shot post wind. Just added The Shots From Yesterday for ya Shrimp LIQUID ADDICTION

Nothing special but better than it looks. Thigh plus chop. 15 mph SE wind.

Notch up from yesterday. Solid waist with rare chest high sets at high tide. Should stick around through the day. Jellys and MOWs out and about.

A day without surf is a day without sunshine? Is a day without sunshine is a day without ... what the hell am I talking about. I think a month straight of AM session has finally taken its toll. Rideable knee high dribble early on, not worthy of electrocution. Presently, still and stormy from the North and from the South. Stay inside.

Bright, blue, wave-free Friday morning. Looking for the wind to pick-up in the next 24 hours. Should be rideable probably tomorrow afternoon and through the forseeable future. 15 to 20+ E chop on the way .. Barely, if even, rideable out back. Wind is just not there ... yet. The call is still 15mph tonight and tomorrow. Last weekends perscription had more kick, but I still think we'll have something to play on the next few days. Hoping for the AM, but that's iffy. Lunar Eclipse tonight shortly after 8:00 not looking good.

Choppy with a knee to waist high underlying swell. Started out in Broward and moved 20 minutes upcoast. Better in Broward, but still fun surf with very few guys out. Get yourself some. Should stick around and probably build over the next few days. Moon jellys out and about. E wind @ 15mph

For you chop fans, game on. Although not forecast to shift into high gear until this afternoon, 20+ NE wind is here. Blown out in the backyard, but if you seek, you will find. Unable to go out this morning, but I'm sure da Core scored, check theliquidaddiction.com, for the morning pics. I'll be heading out for the mid-afternoon session, and will have pics up shortly thereafter. If all holds, its a week-long chop buffet.

Returned to last evening's break, and it wasn't happening, then visited the regular spot, breaking chest to head plus on the sets (above pics). After that moved a little more north and surfed a sheltered break for the rest of the duration. Waist to chest high and very fun. Swell still in the water. Size should hold another day before backing off some.

Waist to chest plus, breaking fast and hard. Moderate South drift. NE wind @ 15 to 20.

What started out as ankle to knee high chop droplets at 5:30AM turned to thigh to waist swell by 8AM. Light offshore wind early on, now turning N. Very, very fun session. Best of the week. Horizon bumped up. Will be blown out before you know it. Dead body washed up on the beach just down from my place.

Different day different program. One of the beautiful things about the sport is that it's never the same. Thigh plus with a moderate South drift. 20mph NE wind. Great thing about surfing with a hard core crew is that no matter how beat on you are, there's always one guy paddling out, and the stoke is contagious. And, you're always glad that you did. Go get yourself some. Should build throughout the day and tonight and last, at least, through tomorrow.

Surfed 6 to 9AM. Knee plus chop. Plenty of little rides to be had, but if you didn't catch it, you didn't miss out. Wind has backed off to 10+ and it's nearly unrideable. A few kites out. Partly cloudy and cool out. Beach day for those who don't know better. Although the wind is forecast to blow 10 to 15 tonight, I don't believe it and seriously doubt there being rideable surf for the remainder of the weekend. But whose complaining - 12 of 15 rideable days so far for November !!!

E wind @ 15mph. Rideable knee plus. No pic updates today.

15mph E wind puffs on. Thigh plus low-tide bubble, wobble, wompers. Should only get better. Awesome sunrise!

Knee to chest to head high drop spin cycle. Mushed out on the outside teasing you to the inside pit. Two options: screamer or sand box pile dirver. 4 guys, 2 buckled boards. E wind @ 15mph.

Started off pretty fun at first light, and gradually fizzled thereafter. Semi-clean residual South wind swell with side to off-shore wind. Initially thigh to occasional waist. Knee to thigh when getting out of the water at 8am. Now, about gone.

Cold front rolling through today. Temps falling throughout the afternoon. Today may be the last skin session for some time. Wind forecast to blow W tonight and NW tomorrow. Keep an eye out!

Took a short stroll up the road this AM. Clean knee to thigh swell. A little better early on. Wind beginning to pick up from the N. Swell looking stronger now, but wind should tear it apart by this afternoon. Large bumps on the horizon. Will be surprised if SOBE bros gets skunked on this one.

Took a stroll a little N this AM. Started out mushy thigh to waist with bigger sets. Then around 9ish, flick of the switch, it turned on - waist plus with head to head plus on sets, peeling down the beach. Semi-clean conditions. As fast as it turned on it turned off. By the time I got out to take pics around 10am, the waves backed off to waist plus. At home, the wind is on it once again.

Gorgeous sunrise and that's about it. 10 to 15 mph E wind. Maybe knee high and barely rideable. Beach day on tap.

Middle row shot yesterday afternoon in N. Miami Beach, curtesy Kurn Photography.

Skip surfing this morning? Well, I did and I'm regretting it now. Wind blew 15+ all last night and has not let up. Thigh plus chop!

Knee plus high tide dribblets. Very funable early on. E wind @ 10mph.

November 25 November 26 Thanksgiving
The return of Lake Atlantic! Unless you're heading N of Palm Beach don't be expecting any rideable waves in South Florida until at least Friday. 10mph SE breeze and a hint of N swell in the water. Not rideable for those not attached to a kite. E breeze picking up steam. 5mph overnight, 10 to 15 pre-sunrise, and now a solid 15mph. Rideable knee to knee plus. Should hold through the day and die out again overnight. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Almost still. Trailing edge of the front working its way through. Flat, but keep an eye on it. Forecast looking real good.

Surfed 7 to 9am. Knee to thigh to very rare waist, but picking up as I got out of the water. Unfortunately, the swell wasn't the only thing picking up. N wind is on it @ 15+. Those who wait for the afternoon session should look more for chop than for swell. Cold out by South Florida standards. Toasty in the water but be prepared for a chill once out. Presently, North Broward looking better than S. PBC.

MIssed the AM train this morning, but it's coming around again for a 2nd pick-up. Knee to thigh fun swell in the backyard. Will update picks later.Fun knee to thigh swell until the big fan in the sky turned on at 11:30 and blew it to shit. Junk now. Maybe rideable chop this evening. A week's worth of chop sessions has begun.
