October 03

Knee to thigh clean N swell. I'm sure it's bigger N, but if you are short on time, there's no need to travel. Hit your local break. Should stick around, and fill in over the next couple days. Fall is in the air!!!

Swell doing the local thang. Anywhere from knee to rib high. Inconsistent but no complaints.

Ankle to why bother .... where I surfed. Waist high and breaking on the outside in another, much less populated, break. Swell maybe heading South. Sobe bros, keep an eye out.

Surfed 7 to 10am. Started out with a glassy thigh plus N swell with no one out. Very, very fun stuff. By 8:30, the wind was on it, as in above pics, size had picked up, but consistency and fun factor dropped.

Above series of Matt Coneen shot by longboardlife.com. Will put new pics up later. Choppy with unrideable underlying swell at home.

Fall w/o surf. Mid-eighties, light breeze, sunny beach day perfection. It's half time. More waves on the way, but for today, rest up. Will be going for a run a bit later. Hope to update with pics of the local wildlife...

Knee plus crappy choppy rideable fun. 10 to 15 mph E wind. Water is beginning to feel a little cooler.

October 07 October 08 October 09

Thigh plus chop. Beautiful sunrise. It may not be your Cali surf or upcoast swell, but in my book this is where it's at. Look for knee to waist high conditions to continue for the next day or two. Get some!

Surfed from dark until post sun pop. Ankle to knee plus semi clean consistent and very rideable leftover choplets. Caught 30 + rides and had a blast. NE wind @ 10+.

--- shrimpcreole.com forever redefining the limits of south florida surf (from the bottom up) ---

Up and back. More defined and cleaner desperhardcore ankle to rare knee high shore slap in Broward. No wind. Swell may be pushing further South ...

Kick back and relax. Flat, still and surf free. Today's pics by Rhettro. October beach day. Light grain on the water, light breeze and no surf. Will update later with pics..... Ditto yesterday. Beach perfection. SE breeze @ 5 to 10.
October 13 October 14 October 15
Flat. Bait fish running South. Maybe some mid-week chop to play on.

Flat and sunny. No wind. Cold front moving through tonight with W wind forecasted to turn on after midnight. Ya never know ....

M & R pics by Rhettro!

Flatness. Should begin to cool down and dry out a bit soon. Hurricane season is on the way out. Winter swell season has just begun. Keep an eye out! Today and tomorrow is just the beginning...

Rideable surf beginning later today, lasting through the end of the week, maybe longer.

October 16 October 17 October 18

Really scraped the bottom of the barrel this morning. Max knee high with a medium S drift. Wind did not kick in until late last night. Now NE 15 to 20 mph. Will definitely build through the day. Seek cover and catch some.

Wind almost completely died overnight. Knee high weak chop for breakfast. You may want to skip the brunch buffet. NE wind @ 10+. Look for similar conditions through the weekend.

Natives were restless today on the beach. L shot of Danno practicing for tomorrow's fire session. M shot doesn't need much explanation. No, I do not live on a nude beach ... there's a thong somewhere in there.

Presently, NNE wind @ 10 to 15. Kites out. No rideable surf.

October 19 October 20 October 21

DCG fire session, followed by ankle high desperado session.

Presently, 5 to 10 mph NE wind. Unrideable.

5 to 10 N puff. Should pick up later. Maybe rideable tomorrow morning. Cold front forecast to roll by later in the week. Flat and still. Maybe later in the week.

Cool, still, drier, flat, clear with seemingly endless visibility. Great day to be a pilot, but not a surfer. Well, there's always tomorrow ... Dry, cool and oh so flat. If you happen to have you heart set on a nice little swell from this passing cold front, don't, it might get broken. Although I hope I'm wrong, I really don't see much through the end of the week in South Florida. Maybe some knee high chop. My only hope is that they kick up the wind forecast. On the cup half-full side, I do like the way next week is setting up ... Sorry no pic updates today. Take yesterday's shots and apply a light unrideable chop. Completely still, a little warmer and more humid w/o a clould in the sky. Will start unrideable tomorrow AM but look for an increasing E wind with rideable chop late in the day continuing through Sunday.
October 25 October 26 October 27

Surfed 7 to 10AM. Solid 20 mph NE wind. Waist to chest plus chop. S drift with a beating to be had on the paddle out. Very fun. Size should increase and peak out tomorrow AM. Grab yourself some.

In the backyard, a few kites out catching some sick airs with many watching from the beach.

Not even close to as good as yesterday. Nice chunky chest high sets coming in before sunrise. After that, tide fattened up and size dropped. Waist high mushy and dumpy. Wind has backed off, E and 15mph and forecast to drop to 10 to 15. So, jump on it now.

Way To Go Marlins!!!!!

Light 5 mph E wind. Occasional knee high rideable dregs, which should dry up shortly. This week's cold front / swell does not look like it's going to happen. Maybe some SE chop Wednesday, but I wouldn't even count on that. Another prime week to get those board repairs done.

May not see updates tomorrow or Wednesday. Today will go down as Devon Jayne's birthday. Yes, the first creolette is set to be born today!

October 28 October 29 October 30
SSE wind @ 15mph. Kites out. No rideable surf. Wind forecast to turn west tonight, so not looking for anything rideable tomorrow. Maybe small scale rideable chop Thursday through the weekend. NNW @ 15+. Beautiful day with plenty of kites out and about. No rideable surf ... yet. The wind is forecast to slowly switch around to the east over the next 24 hours, so that should change. If all holds, we should have some sizeable chop through the weekend, much like this past Saturday.

Wind didn't start cracking until after midnight, but it's here and aint goin' no where soon. This AM was knee to thigh. Should be twice as large by mid-afternoon and drifty.

Halloween Session. Need I say more.
