| Still nothing from South PBC to North BC. The wind is blowing 10 to 15 from the SE and there should be rideable chop soon. Unfortunately, the storm situation is looking increasingly sketchy for us. You may begin thinking (if you haven't already) about switching from surf to survival mode. |
"Good to get wet" surf this morning. Best early on. Knee to thigh Frances swell receiving a strong dose of 15 to 20 mph SE wind. Surf is our last priority today, and trust me, you are not missing much. Get what you need to get done to insure the safety of you and your family. Then, if there's a little time left over .... |
Started out at 6am. Surfed waist to chest waves with a strong S drift for a couple of hours, then packed up and sought shelter a few miles up the road. Getting to shelter was like breaking in Fort Knox, so returned to the original break and surfed a couple drifts. Size and wind was on the increase. Anywhere from waist to head plus, with the drift getting much stronger. If you are stuck West of the island, don't sweat it. You are really not missing much. Keep safe! |

| On and off rain squals, more off than on at the moment. Waist to head high S swell with a strong N drift. Looking much more manageable than earlier on, but still mushy and blown out. | Almost didn't go out this AM. At daybreak it looked like the Mississippi river running North. After the t.v. crews arrived from the air, I thought I finally had my shot at the big time (apply sarcasm), so went for it. Surprisingly little drift and very fun waves, but prepare for a beating or three. Consistent waist to chest with occasional head + sets. Go surf!!!! |

| Rideable, but nothing to write home about. Holding out hope for this afternoon.
|
Strong thunderstorm moving in. Unrideable now and for the next couple, but then things will be a changin ... | 10 to 15 mph SE wind. Knee high rideable chop. Damn that Ivan track keeps pushing further and further to the East. Hope you didn't take all your shutters down ....

| In violation of the white water rule, I did not go out this morning. Wind blew all night at 10 to 15 and is presently SE at 15mph. Knee plus chop for the taking ... | Surfed 6:30 to 8:30. Thigh plus and picking up. Only getting better from here. Go surf! |
Surfed 6:30 to 8. Knee to thigh high and not near as good as expected. Wind and waves have picked up since. Looking thigh to waist as I type. Go get yourself some! |

Thigh to waist high +, and picking up. Real fun chop to be had. Wind is on the increase and it's only going to get better over the next few of days. You know what to do ... |
Waist to chest and fun early on. Very inconsistent thigh to waist with occasional bigger set before getting out. Should be real fun again this afternoon. Looks like we got one or two days left, so go grab yourself some... |
When I went to bed last night around midnight ,the wind was blowing 25+, and I thought for certain this morning would be the best session of the week. It wasn't. Waist high wash cycle, but almost guaranteed to get better with the new tide. |

Real fun thigh to waist high waves for the fist twenty minutes of light. Then things got a little on the funky side, but still funable knee to thigh with waist high sets with the incoming tide. Unfortunately, I think our week run of waves has about come to an end. Seven days straight of surf ... no complaints here. Will be updating South Florida Surf soon with this month's pics. |
All work and no surf makes Johnny a very dull boy. My name ain't Johnny, but I can relate .... | You know next week's set-up that was looking so sweet? Well, it ain't looking so sweet anymore. We'll see, either way, the tables have turned in our favour. Summer surf is over. Looking out back today, what I see is late Summer beach day perfection. It's absolutely beautiful out. Time to catch up with the family, job and to hook-up with those non-surf friends you'll soon be neglecting on a daily basis. Now, what did I just say about Summer being over ...

Flat and rainy. The ankle high background swell (?) that appeared yesterday evening is still dribbling in, but completely unrideable. Although I will be rooting for the Fins tonight, South Florida's real football team has once again crawled out of their hole and is on the road to domination. The mighty FAU burrowing OWLS are on a tear! If you missed yesterday's Tennessee game. They kicked some serious butt in their third consecutive win on the road. This is one proud alumni and season ticket holder. Way to go Owls! |
Hard to say just what we have going on out there - is it the beginning of the North swell, or leftover wind chop? Your guess is probably better than mine. Knee to less high and rideable. This week could deliver some extended quality swell. Size is a difficult call, but it's on its way and ia going to stick around for some time. Keep an eye on those cams. |
Definitely not what the doctor ordered this morning. Mushed out thigh to waist swell with a good dose of N wind on it. It's gotta get better ... |

Waist to chest to overhead on sets. Meaty fun. Go surf!!!!! |
Certainly not the biggest, but the most consistent of the week. Waist high and very funable. Lost touch with the meanderings of Jeanne? It's time to revisit. Today's

Took a little ride North for very marginal surf, plus plenty of bait fish ... plus your friendly neighborhood shark. I didn't stick around to chat. |

Surfed 6:30 to 11ish. Started out thigh to waist high (all shots taken early on) and just about doubled in size when getting out. Clean and very fun throughout. About 20 guys out later on, but a real good vibe in the water. Plenty of rides to go around. No telling what this storm will do to South Florida. Be conservative and play it safe as the storm nears the coast later in the day. Tomorrow could be an awesome day, something to stick around for... As for the present conditions. The wife pulled my card and I'm now stuck in a box in Coral Springs. |
Surfed Central Broward from 10 to 1. Big chunky South swell, breaking anywhere from chest to well overhead. Every guy who "surfed in high school." was out charging it. Plenty of killer waves to be had, and I caught some of my best rides of the year. |
It ain't Thanksgiving dinner, but a Turkey sandwich is still mighty tasty. Semi-clean thigh high leftovers. Grab it while you can. |
